Preventive Care Visit Billing Information

Please be aware that just by scheduling a visit as a well child check or annual preventive visit may not mean that the entire visit is covered at no cost to you by your child's insurance plan. Children's Clinic is obligated to code and bill for the topics discussed and services performed during your child's visit, not necessarily just what the visit was scheduled for.

If other medical services are performed during your visit that are not related to preventive care, you may be billed for a separate office visit or other tests. You may be responsible for a copay or a deductible for these additional services. For a sample list of what preventative care visits typically include or do not include, see below.

Preventive visits typically include:

Physical exam.

Vaccines.

Screening for vision, hearing, depression/anxiety, and other issues.

Medical and screening reviews by your provider.

Preventive health coaching.

Preventive visits typically do not include treatment and the prescribing or adjustment of medications for long-term or new medical conditions such as:

ADHD.

Anxiety.

Asthma.

Depression.

Diabetes.

Headache.

Sleeping disorders.

Wart and skin lesion removal/treatment.
